As a competitor, Yahoo also benefited from holding 8.4 million shares before Google went public.

Some people suspect that Google’s corporate culture will inevitably be changed after the listing, due to pressure from the board of directors or the wealth of executives. 

The two founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, promised in a report that listings would not affect Google's corporate culture as a response to the suspicions of potential investors.
